Jarno Ilmari Hiilloskorpi (b. November 8, 1939 Turku ) was a Finnish actor and theater and film director . Both of his parents were actors. Father Gunnar Hiilloskorpi (1908–1941) played the lead role in the film adaptation of FE Sillanpää's Miehen tie. Jarno Hiilloskorpi attended the predecessor of the Theater College, the Suomen Teatterikoulu, between 1958 and 1961. After his studies, Hiilloskorpi was hired by the Helsinki People's Theater from 1961 to 1963. Other engagements and actions were: Turku City Theater 1963–1965, Helsinki City Theater 1965–1974, Suomen Kansalisteatteri 1974–1989, Tampere Workers' Theater 1989–1993 and 1995–1999. As a theater director, Hiilloskorpi worked at Seinäjoki City Theater 1993–1995 and Riihimäki Theater 1999–2003. Hiilloskorvi's stage roles include Konna's Notes , All the Riches of the World , Dance of Death , Masters Class , Hysteria , Red River and Land of Shadows . Hiilloskorpi was last seen on stage at Tampere Työväen Theater in 2014 in Carin Mannheimer's play There is still time . Hiilloskorpi has made directorial visits to the Finnish National Opera , Helsinki Summer Theatre, Pyynik Summer Theatre , Tampere Theater , Tampere Komediateatteri and Teatteri Avoimii Ovii, among others . Hiilloskorvi's directing works for the theater include Lupa saina , Katu , Avoi liitto , My Fair Lady , Golden Calf , Three Sisters , The Millionaires of Naples , Suddenly Last Summer and America's Bride . So far, Hiilloskorv's most recent stage direction was in 2008, when he directed Arthur Miller's classic Death of a Traveller, at Kokkola City Theatre . After the actor's strike that hampered film production in the early 1960s, Jarno Hiilloskorpi left film and switched to a theater career.
