Bruce Boxleitner (born May 12, 1950) is an American actor and science fiction writer, best known for his roles in the television series *Scarecrow and Mrs. King* (1983–1987) and the *Tron* film series. He has had a long and varied career in television, film, and literature. He developed an interest in acting at an early age and pursued it professionally after studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. After honing his craft on stage, he transitioned to television and film, where he began landing roles in the 1970s. His breakthrough came in the 1980s with the role of Lee Stetson (Scarecrow) in the popular TV series *Scarecrow and Mrs. King*, where he starred alongside Kate Jackson. The series was a hit, running for four seasons, and Boxleitner's portrayal of the charming and resourceful secret agent made him a household name. In addition to *Scarecrow and Mrs. King*, Boxleitner is widely known for his portrayal of *Alan Bradley/Tron* in the groundbreaking 1982 Disney film *Tron* and its 2010 sequel *Tron: Legacy*. The *Tron* franchise, which became a cult classic, showcased Boxleitner in a role that combined both the physical and digital worlds, a theme that would become iconic in science fiction. He also starred in a number of TV movies and made guest appearances on series such as *The Gambler* and *Supergirl*. He was married to actress Kathryn Crane from 1977 to 1982. He later married actress Melissa Gilbert in 1995, with whom he has two children; they divorced in 2011. Aside from acting, he is an accomplished writer.
