Axel Argañaras, also known as Axelotar or Axel Lotar, is an Argentinian visual artist and performer based in La Plata. With a strong background in photography and lighting, his work explores the shadowy thresholds between psychological horror, ambient storytelling, and experimental cinema. Currently studying film, Axel has contributed to various short films as an actor, electrician, and assistant director. His visual language draws from a decade-long journey in photography, a lifelong engagement with atmospheric sound through his musical project Efecto Lunar, and a personal writing practice rooted in dark, introspective poetry. Drawn to the unsettling, the poetic, and the surreal, Axel continues to navigate diverse creative roles—both in front of and behind the camera—inviting audiences into haunting, dreamlike spaces that resist easy interpretation.
