Biography

Gérard Kosicki is a multifaceted French photographer and graphic designer, also a visual artist and writer, whose work has developed at the intersection of still photography, publishing, and contemporary visual creation. Long established in the Grenoble and Alpine community, he has become known for his photographic practice that focuses on bodies in motion, landscapes, and atmospheres, often linked to the world of mountains and climbing. For about ten years, he closely followed the climber Patrick Edlinger, documenting his ascents and his world, building a visual archive that now contributes to the memory of this major figure in sport mountaineering. Alongside his work as a photographer, Gérard Kosicki develops a practice as a graphic designer and visual artist, creating images, layouts, and editorial objects that blend formal rigor with a sense of visual storytelling. This dual practice also informs his work as an author, as he has written several books in the fields of travel, children's literature, illustrated storytelling, and architecture, thus extending his exploration of the image through text and publishing.
