Julie's Confession is a very simplistic and minimal low budget film. The story follows two friends. One of these friends has slept with the other friends ex. This story has been done a-million times before so the film is completely unoriginal in that aspect. However, as an independent film, it does stand out thanks to its (admittedly) better production value and good pacing. Franklin Genao, the director, also incorporates the idea that every neighbourhood as an intriguing/interesting story. Unfortunately, this 'intriguing' story was probably one of the most cliche stories. Either way, out of all the independent films on Tubi I have seen recently. This one was coherent, well shot and well paced. Franklin Genao shows promise as an upcoming director so long as he keeps his professionalism and steers clear of cliches.
